Transplant Scars and Scalp Micropigmentation

Are you looking to go for hair loss treatment? Are you worried about the scars that will be left after the treatment? Well, let’s face the fact there is no hair treatment in the world that will not leave a scar. Thus, if you are looking for a treatment that will not be scar free then be rest assured you will not find one. And, if there is anyone who is promising you on that, then be certain that you are getting an empty promise.

There are wide notions about certain myths that you will always come across. Here are the three most common ones.

  • It is definitely not true that just because your scalp is left with scars after the treatment, it certainly does not mean that your practitioner did not do a good job.

  • Every scar that you will see in your scalp will not look identical. There will be some which you will be able to hide easily, whereas there will be some which you cannot hide.

  • Last but not the least, there is no treatment in the world that will not leave a scar.

Here you will get to know the most common types of scars that you might come across after your hair loss treatment.

  • Strip scars: This is, in fact, a common type of scar that you will see on people who have gone through a hair loss treatment. It is also very problematic for the one who has it. It looks like a linear scar which is found at the back of the head. And, this is mainly caused by an old-fashioned technique known as follicular unit transplantationor FUT. This scar is very much visible because of its length, flatness, color, and texture. However, you can camouflage it with scalp aesthetics provided it is flatter, thinner and less colored.

  • FUE scars: This is basically a different looking scar that you will often find in the scalp of people who have undergone hair loss treatments. It has the appearance of multiple dots and you are most likely to have them at the back of the head and also in the front. However, it is not as severe as strip scars and also very easy to camouflage. This is a mark that is left after using the technique known as follicular unit extraction surgery or FUE.

  • Cobblestone and plug scars: The plug-type procedure or treatmentwas very common during the 70’s and 80’s. After taking this treatment, many were forced to go through other procedures so as to reverse the artificial appearance that they were left with. The people taking up this treatment were left with a permanent plug scar.

  • Scalp reduction scars: This is basically a grueling procedure. The scar that is left after this procedure is nearly impossible to camouflage. There have been many attempts made to hide a scar like this, but most of the times the result was not at all impressive.

You can be certain that you will get scars if you have a hair loss treatment. But, what is important for you to keep in mind is that you need to be sure about the treatment you are going for and the type of scar you are going to have. Also find out whether you can easily camouflage the scar or not.
